Brown-Forman Country Manager Belgium/Luxemburg in Brussel, Belgium

Brown-Forman sets up Direct Selling Organisation in Belgium and Luxembourg from the 1st of January 2022.

What You Will Do in This Role

The Country Manager for Belgium and Luxembourg will be responsible for the implementation of the Direct Selling Organisation and the development of the long-term business strategy for Belgium and Luxembourg markets.

He/She will work cross-functionally to implement the organization, drive results and deliver consistent growth, lead and develop talents, and embed the Brown-Forman culture.

Belgium and Luxembourg is the 7th biggest EU market for Standard+ Whisky in volume. It has grown by 6% in value over the last decade and surpassed total EU growth; with American Whiskey standard+ value growth by 13%. American whiskey - especially the super premium category - continues to grow and attract new consumers.

What You Will Experience

Strategy & business development

  • Start up and lead the implementation of the Brown-Forman Direct Selling Organization in Belgium and Luxembourg with other dedicated European supports

  • Develop and maintain long-term strategic plans for the business units. Build mid and long-term plans with investment proposals to seek growth opportunities

  • Prepare and implement an annual business plan in accordance to the long-term strategy, taking P&L accountability for the markets

  • Driving commercial excellence and innovative portfolio development

  • Develop organizational processes to ensure operational excellence in all aspects of the business

Organization & People Development

  • Participate actively in the recruitment of the new team

  • Commit to the stewardship of Brown-Forman’s culture in Belgium and Luxembourg, role modeling and holding others accountable for the company’s values, behaviors, and ethical standards

  • Ensure growth and development of the organization and the individuals within it, including succession planning for key positions, learning and feedback culture promotion, and focus on engagement and enablement of the workforce

  • Communicate with impact to influence behaviors and results across the depth and breadth of Belgium and Luxembourg organization as well as the wider Brown-Forman organization

Stakeholders, internal and external relationships

  • Ensure strong collaboration with other European division teams

  • Develop relationships with key customers, industry, and respective government authorities

  • Ensure compliance with the B-F Code of Conduct, responsible marketing guidelines, and other such codes that may be issued from time to time

  • Operate efficiently and effectively within the brand and financial matrix structures within Brown-Forman.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and organizational skill set to start up a Direct Selling Organization

  • Leadership and commercial proven experience in Belgium (10 years experience in a senior position in the FMCG industry),

  • Ability to grow brands and deliver results (based on strong industry knowledge and business acumen)

  • Developing people and teams with a clear aptitude for leveraging diversity and fostering inclusion and collaboration

  • Initiating and leading change

  • Fluent in French, Flemish, and English

  • Ability to travel across Europe
