Brown-Forman Finance Analyst and Credit Controller Turkey in Istanbul, Turkey

What You Will Do in This Role

This role is established as a role with a blend of 2 responsibilities: Financial Analyst and Credit & Cash Apps Controller. Assumed responsibility split is 60/40.

The role’s responsibility is to support the Senior Finance Analyst and the Finance Manager with both operational and analytical tasks, reporting, data processing and consolidation. The Financial Analyst will play an important role along the S&OP process, Forecasting and Planning and forward focused analytical efforts that should support decision making and uncover profitable growth opportunities for B-F portfolio in Turkey.

In the capacity of Credit Controller the incumbent will serve as a business partner with the Europe GBS (Global Business Services) structure and the Turkey business unit. Will be responsible for facilitating credit related agenda coordinating financial accounting, reporting, assessing credit limits of customers, release shipments, and prepare credit & A/R analyses focused on communicating quantitative and qualitative information in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.

What You Can Expect:

Basic Function - Finance (60%):

  • Support the Senior Finance Analyst and the Finance function in consolidating annual, quarterly and monthly financial Forecasts

  • Support the monthly S&OP process

  • Identify and explain key variance drivers of actual results vs. financial projections

  • Provide analytical insights, forward looking analysis and support the decision making in areas such as volume forecasts, pricing analytics, margin management, investment efficiencies and new product launches

  • Provide ad hoc support for Turkey team in special projects by conducting tailor made analysis

Basic Function - Credit Controlling (40%):

  • Prepare weekly customer ageing & credit limit reports. Share information & track the issues together with Sales Department

  • Manage all Account Receivables in cooperation with Customer Service and the Sales Force

  • Collect due and overdue receivables (in cooperation with the sales team)

  • Establish and maintain customer credit limits in accordance with Global Credit Policies and Procedures while working closely with Commercial Finance and other partners.

  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures

  • Set up and maintain accounts receivable files and other financial records

  • Reconcile the customer balance and the credit situation in collaboration with Finance and Sales teams

  • Coordinate creation and maintenance of customer files with the GBS Master Data Manager.

  • Prepare regular periodic and special accounting reports

  • Coordinate with the Accounting Manager and Customer Services Manager regarding credit & cash application & banking operations

  • Oversee and coordinate eventual customer hold releases with Finance and Customer Services teams

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field

  • At least 2 years of relevant financial analysis and Credit Controlling experience

  • Experience in working with SAP, Business Warehouse or similar software

  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and credit management

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diversified environment with different functions

  • Demonstrated Ability to Communicate clearly and impactful

  • Fluency in English and Turkish
