Brown-Forman Jack Daniel's Financial Analyst in Lynchburg, Tennessee

Meaningful Work From Day One... Provides general financial analysis and accounting support for Jack Daniel in support of manufacturing, (annual production cases in excess of 15 million nine liter cases), retail operations (in excess of $13 million dollars of restaurant, bottle shop, tours and hardware).and local General & Administrative operations ($3 million of spend). This position will provide accounting support to other sites as required.

Basic Function: Serving as a business partner with the business operating units, this individual supports financial decision making by collecting, analyzing, investigating and reporting financial data with a focus on communicating quantitative and qualitative information in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.

What You Can Expect

  • Provide day to day general accounting and analysis support to the Jack Daniel Lynchburg team. This includes month and year-end accounting and closing activities, account analysis and reconciliations, and production reporting.

  • Prepares journal entries on a monthly basis for the various production activities and responsible for uploading all entries and support to Salesforce.

  • Responsible for accounts payable processing ensuring expenses are recorded accurately and timely.

  • Responsible for Coupa reports; monitoring and resolving invoice payments and issues.

  • Prepares production reports to management team identifying trends with supporting narratives.

  • Assists in account reconciliations for all applicable balance sheet accounts and uploads all reconciliations into Salesforce.

  • Assists Senior Financial Analyst in building annual standards, gift standards and standard variance review

  • Assists in reconciling Lynchburg Homeplace systems (Reservation and Retail) to SAP and ensures its financial integrity.

  • Provides backup support for payroll processing

  • Assists with monthly narrative preparation for review and inclusion in the monthly financial reporting package.

  • Project Analysis: As required, provides support to finance management team in developing meaningful financial and strategic analyses designed to further the operating unit’s understanding of significant business matters. Analytical assignments could include cost saving initiatives, inventory usage analysis, production planning review, etc.

  • Supports the Assistant Controller during the budgeting and forecasting periods. Promotes efficient allocation of resources during the planning processes.

We Are Looking For People Who

  • Have Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field AND a minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting or related areas, or a combination of formal education and experience.

  • Ability to work independently and execute responsibilities in a high volume, deadline oriented environment; willingness and adaptability to organize, implement, and perform quality work with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.

  • Advanced ability and knowledge of MS Excel and knowledge of other MS applications including Word.

  • Strong analytical ability, accuracy, time management, exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly discuss business issues and translate into financial implications and action plans.

  • Strong financial and analytical abilities with the ability to collect analyze and present results in a concise format.

What You Can Add To The Team

  • Knowledge of SAP manufacturing software.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations and the cooperage industry

  • Knowledge of Google Sheets, Coupa, Concur, Lightspeed, Workday software a plus.
