The Digital Compliance Associate Manager is a leadership role that is a critical asset to the Brown-Forman Marketing business. This role implements and manages the use of emerging Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) technologies for Brown-Forman’s overall Brand Portfolio while working with the Director, Digital Compliance, Brown-Forman Legal and global regulatory groups to ensure that international, federal, and state regulations are adhered to. As our IMC efforts continue to grow in both volume and in number of markets, the Digital Compliance area continues to need a well-educated, well-practiced, detail-oriented and driven employee to assist the Director, Digital Compliance in maintaining exceptional compliance coverage for our global portfolio of brands.
This role is responsible for managing the Digital Compliance Specialist in day to day compliance maintenance as well as skill development in the areas of marketing, IT and legal as it relates to digital compliance.
What You Can Expect:
Extensive understanding of alcohol marketing policies and best practices to include BF Marketing Policy, DISCUS, Spirits EU and ABAC codes. This role must maintain a high value of trust to ensure our brands are marketed responsibly, reflecting our company’s prestigious ideals and impeccable standards.
Work in partnership with the Director, Digital Compliance to research, develop and communicate best practices, policies and procedures that specify the guidelines for regulatory digital advertising compliance at the global, regional and state level.
Stay up to date and leverage technology for continuous process improvement for the Digital Compliance team’s suite of tools and resources. This includes proactively seeking out ways that ensure Digital Compliance is optimizing and organizing technology to be at the forefront of organization and communication both internally and with our external partners.
Stay up-to-date on related legislative activity at both the international, federal and state levels to ensure that the company's IMC policies have timely, relevant and accurate compliance-related content.
Review and provide guidance for all IMC projects across the global portfolio of brands to ensure that promotions adhere to market regulations, B-F responsible marketing and compliance guidelines, as well as operate within all the social platform policies. This requires the ability to document in-depth written compliance reviews in easy-to-understand terms for agency partners where English is not the predominant language.
Assist with the implementation of approved digital technologies across the Brown-Forman IMC landscape to ensure digital strategies are achieved successfully.
Assist Director, Digital Compliance with researching emerging digital technologies for compliance with alcohol marketing practices. This requires in-depth knowledge of social media technologies (front and back-end processes) and compliance requirements for alcohol marketing.
Maintain written guidelines for all approved digital technologies once approved by the director and legal.
Stay current and monitor competitors' IMC initiatives and make recommendations for opportunities in digital advertising.
Serve as a point of contact for IMC Leads, agency partners, and local community managers, acting as a guide for Brown-Forman social media policies and practices.
In partnership with Director, Digital Compliance, conduct in person training programs to the Global Brand Marketing Teams on marketing technology tools and concepts.
In partnership with Brown-Forman Legal, manage and oversee the content calendar review process (responsibility of the Digital Compliance Specialist) and provide guidance on monthly content calendars submitted by agency partners worldwide. These reviews consist of ensuring B-F marketing policies, DISCUS, Spirits EU and ABAC codes are being followed. Ability to provide constructive feedback to Community Managers and offer alternative solutions.
Manage and oversee the Implementation and management of access levels for digital marketing enterprise technology toolset to include: Facebook Business Manager and Social Studio. (responsibility of the Digital Compliance Specialist)
Manage and oversee the overall processes for digital access requests, whether they are for Web/FTP, digital agency on-boarding or community management (responsibility of the Digital Compliance Specialist). This involves scheduling training sessions, granting access, distributing additional compliance resources and administering the master list of agency partners, which is critical for audit purposes.
Manage and oversee the processes for access to compliance documents and guidelines for social media, email and website; and the implementation of promotional Terms and Conditions, in HTML.
Maintain a working relationship with Internal Audit and be responsible for conducting annual audits on consumer data privacy and social media across our global portfolio of brands to include developing management action plans and seeing them through to completion.
Excellent oral communication skills are required to lead training architecture, updates, and bi-weekly sessions for Digital Compliance Training and new agency on-boarding to agency partners and distributors worldwide where English is not the predominant language, and understand cultural differences
Assist in the maintenance of written guidelines for all approved digital technologies.
Maintain working relationships with approved social media channel partners (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Drizly, etc.). Work with these partners to ensure functionality requirements are adhered to.
Supervise (manage) one temporary employee whose responsibilities include: social media moderation practices in accordance with DISCUS, Spirits EU and ABAC guidelines; digital program review for adherence to B-F Marketing Policies and regulatory guidelines for international, federal and state regions and administration of the digital access request system.
We Are Looking For People Who:
Bachelors degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience (combination of Marketing, IT, Communications, or Analytics)
Experience managing others, either through direct supervision or through influencing decisions of partners
Highly motivated, entrepreneurial personality to continuously drive for results
Experience in Project Management across a wide variety of project types and multiple projects simultaneously
Aptitude and interest in working with international regulatory laws concerning digital marketing compliance and data privacy
Demonstrated technical competency and understanding of Internet marketing, social media and mobile platforms
Excellent verbal and written communication skills: strong presentation abilities to bridge the gap between technology and marketing and superior collaboration and teamwork skills to include communicating with agency and distributor partners where English is not the predominant language
Achievement/results oriented; self-motivated with the ability to work without daily supervision
Demonstrated proactive and solution-oriented problem solving skills; excellent attention to detail and aesthetics
Strong customer focus, responsive to needs
Ability to succeed in a fast moving, changing environment
Requirement to support global teams before/after normal working hours
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
What Sets You Apart:
Proven experience with managing indirect or matrixed working relationships
Ability to understand and conduct system administration for enterprise technical toolsets
Working knowledge of global data privacy laws and international trade practice regulations for the alcoholic beverage industry
Experience within Brown-Forman brands and regions and/or the Beverage Alcohol Industry
