Brown-Forman Finance Manager (財務總監) in Taipei City, Taiwan

Meaningful Work From Day One

Reporting to our Financial Director (Asia) you will lead, direct and administer all financial activities for Taiwan. As part of the local leadership team, you will have a pivotal role in providing advice, counsel and analytical support on key business issues and commercial decisioning support to the General Manager.

This newly created position will develop business processes and planning, financial controls, revenue growth management, management reporting and strategic initiatives. You will also lead Taiwan’s financial planning/forecasting, financial/commercial analysis and insights to support profitable business growth and strategic resource allocation.

What You Can Expect

  1. Financial Analysis & Operational Effectiveness
  • Monthly analysis of business results with clear, compelling communication of key drivers of performance trends through monthly business reviews, identifying potential risks and opportunities.

  • Establish processes for concise, accurate, periodic financial analysis and reporting on a timely basis.

  • Partners with regional/corporate functions to ensure the accurate and timely execution of accounting, credit, supply chain, tax, and treasury operations.

  1. Financial Planning and Forecasting
  • Oversee annual and quarterly planning processes for Taiwan, providing analysis and collaborative support with sales and marketing in building and communication/presentation of plans.

  • Establish business processes for accurate planning and forecasting by sales and marketing teams for all P&L line items..

  • Provide accurate financial forecasts on the current state of the business measured against the on-going business updates on a timely basis along with the appropriate qualitative / quantitative analysis and recommendations.

  • Provide analytical support, reporting and control in managing brand marketing spend and SG&A budgets.

  1. Revenue Growth Management
  • Works closely with sales, supply chain, tax and other parties to establish appropriate transfer prices.

  • Work closely with sales in establishing pricing processes and developing, evaluating, and standardizing price structures. Preparing analysis and recommendations on pricing, discounts, and margin management.

  • Initiate, provide and lead cross functional analysis (consumer, trade, financial) into meaningful insights about performance, identification of opportunities and risks and assessment of mitigation and contingency plans. Utilizes the most relevant data and analytical tools to develop insights into drivers of growth.

  • Leads and champions revenue growth management initiatives and capabilities in Taiwan.

  1. Strategic Planning
  • Analyze and model the financial performance of the market to identify opportunities to support development of long-term strategic plans.

  • Collaborate with other functional areas (Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain) to identify areas of possible revenue growth, expansion, allocation of resources or cost reduction opportunities.

  1. Internal Controls
  • Ensure proper financial / internal controls and regulatory processes are established, communicated and are properly followed, partnering with Accounting, Credit and Legal teams.

What Exactly Are We Looking For?

  • 5+ years experience in similar positions. Experience within alcohol beverage or branded consumer products is preferred.

  • Bachelors’ degree in finance, accounting or business administration.

  • Verbal and written fluency in English is essential

  • Strong proven ability to analyze and interpret data and generate and communicate insights

  • Strong business acumen, with experience in commercial finance

  • Proven leadership and decision making abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and complete multiple and diverse activities within established timeframes

  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency in various software packages (Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, SAP, BW or other BI software, etc)

  • Experience in establishing business and internal control processes is desirable.

  • Exposure in international business (foreign currencies, etc) and/or emerging markets will be highly regarded
