Our Japan market is a key priority growth country, with very ambitious volume and value growth and will remain a strong focus from global leadership.
Meaningful work from day one
This position will be responsible for championing growth of our Super Premium portfolio including development and successful execution of all marketing programs. You will create brand enthusiasm and brand evangelism across Japan, aligning with Global & Regional stakeholders and assisting the Marketing Manager.
You will also work closely with the National Sales Planning Manager, Sales Planning teams and distribution partners to assure timely development and delivery of the needed materials. You will also manage the regular needs of the brand, such as track and reconcile brand spending, actively manage brand P&L’s, logistical/supply chain support.
What you will experience
Brand Strategy & Execution
Own the Super Premium Portfolio - from strategic planning through to execution and delivery of portfolio growth
Lead Strategic Brand Plan development in close association with Regional Marketing Director and Marketing Manager
Develop a close working relationship with global brand teams to align brand plans, long-term strategic direction and collaborate on building the required assets for the market
Develop and lead go to market campaigns & initiatives including but not limited to ATL, field experiential marketing / event activation activities, brand advocacy etc
Scope new product and portfolio diversification opportunities - size of prize, consumer trends/ rationale and business cases
Analysis on the range of brand financial metrics including brand expenses, volumetric and fiscal reporting and future projection forecasting
Partner closely with Distributor, Commercial Teams and Trade Marketing Specialist for effective channel & customer programs across Off Premise, On Premise and E-Commerce
Partner closely with Insights Analyst to track and measure key brand and business metrics with actionable outputs and reapplied learnings
Multiple agency and external supplier management - briefing, timelines, budget scope and appraisals
Work with all levels of field sales staff to ensure that marketing plans and tactics are appropriate for field based brand building activities
Financial Management
Manage brand P&L’s (including A&P tracking and reporting, discount and trading terms management)
Prepare sales forecasts and associated reporting
Capability & Culture Building
Foster an agile, growth mindset team culture
Be an advocate and ambassador for brand knowledge and best in class adoption
Elevate profile, exposure and understanding of Japan Super Premium opportunities amongst Global Brand Teams
Play an active role with Distributor Partners - educating, executing and reviewing performance review with Distributor Partners, Field Sales staff and Commercial Teams
Your profile
Strong experience (minimum 8 years) experience in a combination of consumer/trade marketing; FMCG/ Luxury/ related fields
Strong competency and experience with Digital Media & E-Commerce
Proven track record in building brands / portfolio(s) and project management
Strong financial interpretation skills at Brand or Market level (P&L)
Ability to synthesize and analyze insights and information from a range of sources and translate into commercial strategy and tactics at Brand and Market level
Demonstrated success in leading and coaching a team – prior leadership experience will be advantageous
Fluency in Japanese and English
Tertiary qualifications (College / university)
