Brown-Forman Senior Supply Chain Analyst in Tokyo, Japan

Our Japan market is a key priority growth country, with very ambitious volume and value growth and will remain a strong focus from global leadership.

Meaningful work from day one

This new position will provide professional support between our Customer service teams in Louisville USA (Head office) and our local Japanese distributor. This role will play a key part in bridging the gap in our supply chain strategy and planning, and enhance communication across our teams. This position will also develop key processes to ensure our supply and demand objectives are met.

What you will experience

  • Support financial targets by proactively manage any issues related to supply, stock, and logistics

  • Develop strategies for managing supply risk through identification, assessment and prioritization of risk in supply area and constraint planning

  • Take a lead role in monthly forecast review meeting with Distributor/ Commercial Leaders and develop a consensus forecast, identify forecast gap and changes

  • Collaborate with Louisville Demand Planning team and ensure consensus forecast in planning system is up-to-date

  • Participate in monthly demand planning calls with Louisville Planning team to review forecast accuracy

  • Support Portfolio development by completing new brand, product and SKU introductions / rationalizations, including any special VAP/ label requirements

  • Establish standard processes with distributor to review inventory holdings and stock turns

  • Monitor distributor’s inventory level to ensure continuous supply; present risks, scenarios and proposals to Commercial Leaders

  • Develop and Implement inventory strategies which cater for markets needs, seasonal/ promotion spikes in particular

  • Monitor Slow moving/ aged stock, collaborate with Distributor/ Commercial Leaders for depletion plan

  • Review inventory which required write-off if applicable

  • Collaborate with distributor to ensure orders are in place according to lead time

  • Manage and follow up open orders with Louisville Customer Service team; resolve possible discrepancies in delivery of goods if needed

  • Facilitate communication between Louisville Customer Service and distributor

  • Serve as the first point of contact for distributor to address requests, queries, complaints in a timely and efficient manner

Your profile

  • Strong experience in supply chain function, (supply and demand management)

  • Fluent in Japanese and English language (written and spoken)

  • Industry experience within beverage or FMCG is highly regarded

  • Expert knowledge in Importation and Local Customs regulations, Logistics, S&D planning, Inventory Management & Customer Services

  • Familiarity with RTC process under distribution model

  • Experience with SAP system is advantageous

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field

  • Ability to work in a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the role
