Brown-Forman Winery Operations Technician in Windsor, California
Performs skilled level cellar and bottling duties under minimal supervision. Performs advanced and complex tasks requiring considerable judgment, independent analysis and detailed knowledge of the position and procedures.
Job Duties & Requirements

Understands and reads work order instructions – responsible for full execution of all work orders
Performs all barrel work such as filling, disgorging, topping, additions, use of barrel scanners, stirring, and all required complies with the respiratory requirement for application of SO2. Provides input on barrel placement and tracking of barrel movement. Leads barrel inventory audits. Shipping and receiving barrels.
Performs all tank work such as blending, filtering, racking, moving wine which includes loading of bulk wine tankers, and tank sanitation
Performs bottling line tasks in all workstations which includes start-up sanitation and in-depth close of business clean-up of bottling line equipment and working stations which includes filling room. Tracks equipment downtime and details of operational disruptions. Troubleshoots equipment disruptions and escalates communication accordingly. Performs daily finished goods inventory.
Performs barrel and tank work during harvest period which also requires direct guidance to the seasonal workforce. Provides direct supervision of the seasonal workforce. Acts as a strong resource for other technicians. Operates harvest grape receiving equipment
Operates crossflow, a membrane filter, and lees filter and sanitation
Performs housekeeping and sanitation tasks to meet internal quality standards which encompass winery, bottling, and harvest operations
Safe of operation of presses and all harvest equipment
Responsible for the proper setup, use, and care of all cellar equipment.
Forklift operations with barrels and case goods
Adheres to all established safety guidelines
Adheres to all established quality guidelines
Assist with finish goods and barrel count inventory
Bottling and packaging on the line
Identify proper change over components using packaging codes
Remove, clean, and re-install parts daily on bottling line machinery
Safe operation of scissor lift and boom lift.
Takes an active role in one or more employee engagement groups

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Education – High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Communication (conveys clear and concise information)
Prior Experience – At least three years of direct winery operations experience. Basic computer skills a plus.
Physical Requirements – Must be able to lift, pull and carry up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis. Ability to work long periods while standing up and ability to walk extended distances including repetitive movement on stairs.
Communication Skills – Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Attendance/Schedule – Must have flexibility with scheduling, willing to work various schedules. Will require occasional overtime and weekend work during harvest and as needed. May also require on-call status for emergencies.
